CALLING OF THE FORCES: “Aunty Edith Kanaka'ole had written this chant for halau hula originally, with the intent to ask and acknowledge our unseen elemental and ancestral forces for guidance and support. It is a kahea or calling down of wisdom for whatever the task at hand is.... Simple yet Powerful! "E homai ka 'ike mai luna mai e", give me insight from above. "O na mea huna no'eau", of the hidden things of knowledge. This chant asked to bring it forward and actually precedes all other 'oli.”
